solutions to water pollution
There are several ways you could help in your own house. For example, try to use less water. Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth. Another way to help reduce pollution is to avoid using plastic bags. Although they're cheap, it could affect water just by throwing
one dirty bag into the lake/ocean/river. Instead, use reusable containers and/or reusable shopping bags. Another good way is to watch what you dispose. Don't throw paint brushes, or any kind of bleach into the toilet. You need to recycle them properly. Or if doing yard duty like washing your grass or car don't over do it especially for your car, see a specialist, because he knows what he's doing, and chances are you don't. And most importantly, always recycle motor oil. 1 quart can affect 250,000 gallons of water! You can also help out on a larger scale by helping out neighbourhoods and communities. Cleaning up garbage in and litter at the beaches, parks, and public spaces will help with pollution. And if there is a boat yard, see if the boats are in good condition, to make sure that there's not a gas leak, and if there is a leak of some sort, talk to the owner and tell him to fix it. And most importantly when you see someone pollute stop them, because believe or not you're not the only one who pollutes. In conclusion water pollution can be prevented and maybe in one point of time could be stopped, but that all starts with you. |
